My Meds – Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the My Meds mobile application (“App”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information. The App provides personal medication reminders and stock tracking. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
1. Data Controller
The data controller for the App is the app developer (SBY Creative). For privacy questions or data requests, contact:
- Email: info@sbycreative.com
- Website: https://sbycreative.com
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the App, we may process the following:
- Account information: email address and optional display name when you register or sign in with email and password via Firebase Authentication; or, if you choose Continue with Google, your Google account name, email address, and profile information shared with us through Google Sign-In and Firebase Authentication.
- Medication and usage data: medicine names you enter, reminder times, stock (boxes/pills), and usage history (taken / due doses). This data is used only for reminders and stock tracking linked to your account.
- Device / app settings: local notification permission and scheduling needed to show reminders (including after device reboot, where the operating system allows); minimal local app preferences on your device (for example whether you completed the first-time tutorial).
- Advertising identifiers: when ads are shown, Google AdMob may use advertising ID / device identifiers according to Google’s policies (see Section 5).
- Analytics: Firebase Analytics may collect app usage events (for example app opens, sign-in, sign-up, adding a medicine), device/app information, and approximate diagnostics to help us understand usage and improve the App. Event parameters do not include the names of your medicines. Google’s privacy terms apply (see Section 5).
- App configuration: Firebase Remote Config may fetch non-personal configuration values (for example the latest published app version) to prompt you to update when a newer version is available. This does not include your medicine data.
- Technical data: basic connectivity is required (internet) for account sync with Firebase. We do not collect SMS, call logs, precise location, camera, microphone, or contacts.
Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication using industry-standard methods and are not readable by the developer in plain text.
3. How We Store and Process Data
Account and medication data are processed and stored on Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore). Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and associated only with your user account.
Local notifications are scheduled on your device for reminder delivery. Firebase Remote Config is used only to check whether a newer app version is available. We do not use push messaging to deliver medication reminders.
4. Purposes of Processing
We use the information to:
- Create and secure your account and sign-in;
- Schedule and show medication reminder notifications;
- Track stock and usage history;
- Operate, maintain, and improve App reliability and security;
- Show banner advertisements via Google AdMob (non-intrusive banners);
- Analyze aggregated usage via Firebase Analytics to improve reliability and features;
- Check for optional app updates via Firebase Remote Config.
We do not sell your personal medication data to data brokers. We do not use your medicine list to build interest profiles outside the App beyond what third-party ad services may process under their own policies when ads are displayed.
5. Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third parties:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Remote Config, and related Google services) for account, data storage, app analytics, and optional update checks. Google’s privacy terms apply: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Google Sign-In when you choose to sign in with your Google account. Google processes your sign-in according to its own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Google AdMob for banner ads. AdMob may collect or process device advertising identifiers and other data described in Google’s advertising / privacy documentation: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
The App does not collect or store credit/debit card numbers. There is currently no in-app subscription purchase in the App. Banner ads are shown within the App UI; we do not use full-screen interstitial ads for medication reminder moments.
6. Permissions (Android)
The App may request or use the following permissions when needed:
- Notifications – to show medication reminders;
- Internet / network state – account sync and ads;
- Boot completed – to reschedule reminders after device restart;
- Vibrate / wake lock – reliable reminder delivery (as supported by the OS);
- Schedule exact alarms – to deliver medication reminders at the times you set (where supported by Android).
The App does not require location, camera, microphone, SMS, phone call log, or contacts permissions.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data while your account remains active. When you delete your account, we delete associated app data from our Firebase project (medicines, related notification records, profile), subject to any short technical delays and any retention legally required.
8. Your Rights and Account Deletion
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data.
In-app account deletion (Google Play requirement):
If you registered with email and password: open the App → Settings
→ Delete account, enter your password to confirm. This permanently
deletes your Firebase Authentication account and associated App data stored for
that account.
If you signed in with Google and cannot delete your account in the App, email info@sbycreative.com from the same Google email address used in the App and request account deletion. We will verify and delete your account and associated data.
You may also email info@sbycreative.com to request access, correction, or deletion if you cannot access the App.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit and reasonable security practices provided by Firebase and the operating system. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we take commercially reasonable steps to protect your information.
10. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. International Users / Play Store Disclosures
This Policy is intended to align with Google Play’s Data safety disclosures for the App. Categories typically declared include account info (email/password or Google sign-in), app activity / health-related medication reminder data you enter, analytics (Firebase Analytics), app configuration (Firebase Remote Config), and advertising / device identifiers used for AdMob. Always review the Data safety section on the App’s Play Store listing for the latest declaration.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page and may also be noted in the App. The current English version is always published at: https://sbycreative.com/privacy-policy.html
